Director’s Update

Dear LMACS Students and Families,

Lowell Middlesex Academy Charter School continues to closely monitor developments with the Coronavirus (also known as COVID 19) and have been in contact with the Department of Education, the Department of Public Health and Middlesex Community College Emergency Management Team (EMT). We are aware that this is a very complex situation and appreciate that there is heightened concern among our high school community.

The safety – including the health- of our students and faculty is our priority. With that in mind, Lowell Middlesex Academy Charter School will be closed for two weeks, beginning Monday, March 16, 2020 through Friday, March 27, 2020

In closing LMACS, the goal is to sustain local community transmission. A decision to close school is an important one with significant impact on our community. This decision is a proactive measure for our students and families.

Lunch will be provided at MCC cafeteria for LMACS students and to all children during the weekdays at five sites: The Bartlett School, Greenhalge School, Murkland School, Reilly/Sullivan campus and the STEM Academy (Rogers). There will be a food truck on location for 30 minutes a day at each site. The schedule will be finalized soon. Please call your local town hall for location of your food bank if additional support is needed.

Advisors will email all of their students during the closing period in order to check in and provide updates. Please check your gmail accounts regularly!

Our website will also provide additional resources for our students and families as we navigate this rapidly changing environment.
